Dyadic has available a number of enzymes for the Pulp and Paper Industry. Dyadic's enzymes offer the Pulp and Paper Industry new and emerging technologies to modify cellulose fibers in order to optimize the bleaching, refining, de-inking and waste water processes. These products have been specifically formulated to work on recycle grades as well as virgin grades. Some of the benefits that have been seen include energy savings, improved brightness, improved strength characteristics, cleaner white water systems, less linting and dusting, reduction in stickies and environmental benefits like wastewater stream cleaning and reduction in total Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD).

Paper pulp is a bio-based material comprised of lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose that can be modified through the use of enzymes. Enzymatic treatments can be used for biorefining to improve strength, white water cleanliness and reduce energy consumption; for de-inking to improve the de-inking effectiveness; for bleach boosting to reduce the usage of bleaching chemicals; and waste treatment to allow an increase in BOD and COD removal.
